A Photography I like

Imagen
I really like this picture. I took it from inside the plane last summer when we went on vacation with my boyfriend to Iquique. It was the first time in my life that I got on and   traveled on a plane, I remember I was very nervous because I didn't know what it would be like. Once inside, the cravings for it to take off were very great, once it took off I felt very calm, it was quite a new experience. It's very nice to see it down from a plane, I think it's an experience that everyone should experience. I wanted to upload it because it reminds me of the feeling of climbing and landing, the truth is not scary, it is very adrenal. The photo shows the wing of the plane and the sunrise sun coming out of the back. The view was really beautiful, and it was an amazing holiday, I recommend everyone to visit Iquique sometime in t...

My favorite piece of technology

Imagen
My favorite piece of technology is the cell phone. My first cell phone was given to me by my parents when I was 8 years old so I could communicate with them while I was at school, since then I have always had a cell phone, although when I was younger I always lost them. I use it very frequently, it is part of my daily life. I like it because it is a very versatile device, you can communicate with your friends, talk with people who are far away even in other countries, it also has many integrated functions such as clock, calculator, alarm calendar, etc. I can know the news the moment it is happening, I can also read texts, watch movies and series, do homework for the university and work on my vegan hair dye page and free of animal testing. My life without a cell phone would be very complicated, since it is my study, work and social life tool, especially during quarantine, since it was the only way to see my family and friends.

¿Por qué eligió esta carrera / programa de estudios?

Imagen
I have always been interested in the sciences, the arts and philosophy, I recently discovered that I am very interested in the social sciences. I was studying Molecular Biotechnology Engineering for a while and now I am studying anthropology.  I like this career because I like that it addresses scientific issues in the context of human relationships. As Latin Americans after colonization we lost much of our culture, forms of organization and ancestral knowledge, which causes us a tremendous disconnection with our past.  Life is complex and precarious in Latin America, we are an oppressed people in many ways and we know closely the injustices in health, education, housing, etc.  I chose this career because I believe that we must recover as much as we can of our lost ancestral knowledge, to forge strong social relationships that will strive us as a unit in the face of all injustices, and achieve a dignified life for all. Dignity and justice for the Abya Yala!

Hello, my name is Camila Antúnez, I am 22 years old and I live in the Cerrillos commune in Santiago de Chile. This commune is called like that because it has many hills, it is like living on the beach within the city. I live together with my mom and my sisters and brother. Our animal companions also live with us, Shenzy the wild cat and Pandora the brave chihuahua. During my childhood and adolescence, I studied at a school in Cerrillos. I have always been interested in science, philosophy and art, I recently discovered that I am also very interested in social science. I spent some time studying Molecular Biotechnology Engineering but now I study Anthropology at the University of Chile. I really like body modifications such as body piercing, tattoos, scarifications and colored hair, it is really fascinating to be able to study the artistic body expressions of each culture.
