Post 5: Who is a person/expert on your field that you admire?

 Rita Laura Segato is an Argentine feminist writer and activist based in Brasilia and Tilcara. He was born on August 14, 1951 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is currently 69 years old. He graduated in anthropological sciences from the University of Buenos Aires.

She is known for her gender-oriented research in native peoples and Latin American communities, as well as for her studies on topics such as gender-based violence and gender relations, racism and colonialism. His works are based on the notion that gender relations are a field of power, and he also argues that sexual crimes should be considered crimes of power, domination and punition. Among his best-known works are: The Elementary Structures of Violence.Gender essay between anthropology, psychoanalysis and human rights, Critical genealogies of coloniality in Latin America, Africa, East, War against Women, Prisoners Talk about human rights, Contrapedagogies of Cruelty, among others. In addition, it inspired the collective thesis, who created and viralized the performance "A Rapist on Your Way" during the October 2019 Social Burst in Chile, which went around the world.

This anthropologist inspires me greatly for her feminist and counter-pedagogical ideals, also for her critical way of addressing gender and sexual violence. Rita Segato coined the term femigency to describe crimes committed against women who attain the degree of humanity or genocide.

Post 2: The best Holidays

  My best vacations were in the summer of 2020 before the covid-19 pandemic began. I went to Iquique with my boyfriend and his family; his mother and his grandfather. We went for 5 days, we rented an apartment near the beach. We visited many places such as the Iquique naval combat museum, we took a boat ride, we went to the city of Pica, the nitrate town of Humberstone, we visited the geoglyphs, the beach, the casino, the waterfront fairs, the mall zofri and the desert. The beach and the waterfront were really beautiful, they had showers to wash after bathing on the beach and bathrooms in many parts, in addition to being an inclusive city with people with disabilities. It has been the best trip so far because it is the first time I have traveled a plane, I was really nervous and I was a little scared, but it happened to me when the plane took off, it was not really that terrible and it was very pleasant, the trip was short and not scary.           ...

Post 6: A subject you’ve enjoyed studying this semester

  My favorite subject this semester is the course of Gender, Feminism and Violence. Dialogues from the social sciences. This bouquet consists of two parts, one exhibition by the teachers of the course, and another in which the contents seen in classes are dialogued or debated. Among the main contents of the course are: gender concepts, women's movements in Latin America and the world, feminist economics, feminist pedagogies, feminist epistemologies and intersectional feminist perspectives. In this field texts related to the contents seen in feminism-oriented classes are read. He has a final work that deals with a subject of choice, of which a video, poster or infographic must be made, in which we reflect on the subject. I really like this bouquet, because it is my first bouquet of feminism in college, I am very excited to learn the contents of the bouquet, the topic that interests me the most is feminist economics, and Latin American feminisms. " ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES"

 My experience learning English at the university has been good, I have had good teachers who have taught me a lot. But I think they should pass grammar more carefully. Using blogs in English classes has helped me a lot to put writing and reading into practice. Personally, I have a hard time listening to English, many times it is because people speak very fast, it is not pronounced well or a specific accent is used and the words are pronounced differently. In the last time that I have been watching the Avatar series, it has helped me a lot to put into practice my auditory English, since they use simple dialogues, pronounce well and speak slowly. Series, movies and songs are a great way to put English into practice outside of university. I recommend it to you. I usually choose movies or series where they use simple language, and songs that are not very fast, where they pronounce well and are easily understood.
