¿Por qué eligió esta carrera / programa de estudios?
I have always been interested in the sciences, the arts and philosophy, I recently discovered that I am very interested in the social sciences.
I was studying Molecular Biotechnology Engineering for a while and now I am studying anthropology. I like this career because I like that it addresses scientific issues in the context of human relationships.
As Latin Americans after colonization we lost much of our culture, forms of organization and ancestral knowledge, which causes us a tremendous disconnection with our past. Life is complex and precarious in Latin America, we are an oppressed people in many ways and we know closely the injustices in health, education, housing, etc.
I chose this career because I believe that we must recover as much as we can of our lost ancestral knowledge, to forge strong social relationships that will strive us as a unit in the face of all injustices, and achieve a dignified life for all.
Dignity and justice for the Abya Yala!
