Post 7: Changes to my Study programme
Hi, it's me again, today
I'm going to talk to you about the changes in my study program. As you
mentioned earlier, I study Anthropology. This career has very varied branches,
since it has branches of social sciences, statistics and natural sciences. The
degree lasts 5 years, of which 2 correspond to the basic cycle and 3 correspond
to specialization.
The basic cycle of this
career has branches such as: statistics, ethnography and archives, philosophy,
human evolution, English, fundamental problems of anthropology, social theory
and branches on the history of Chile. In the specialization cycle there are 3
mentions: social, archeology and physics, which have branches together and
others according to each mention.
Regarding the workload,
in general in Anthropology there are around 5 to 7 branches per semester, they
are fed up branches, but in general teachers are flexible with delivery times,
especially now in a pandemic.
I would make changes to
the infrastructure, since there are many half-finished buildings on campus, and
it lacks comfortable spaces in which students can spend their free hours
between classes. I would also change the libraries to be bigger and with more
computers. And as for the rooms, I would put more comfortable chairs and tables,
since there are very small rooms with very uncomfortable and small chairs and
tables.
Regarding the use of
technology, we use tools such as Excel, Canva, Zoom, Word among others that
allow us to adapt to these times of pandemic. Regarding methodologies, we use
both quantitative and qualitative study methodologies.
Personally, I would add
more botanical and mycology branches in the specialized cycle, also branches of
environmental conflicts in Chile and finally add a branch of theoretical and
practical tools to interact with people, trying to approach the different
communities under study in a correct way.

I agree in the point that the infraestructure have many building that should be finished x.x
